-=(Elements)=- Shan "Lucky" Lakhmani ...Hydrogen, Helium, Lithium, Beryilium... It's a song I sing to keep me occupied, you see. I used to be a regular student, you see. I made A's and B's, went to a good school, and spoke passable French. Then I finally opened my eyes and had an epiphany. It happened in chemistry class, oddly enough. You don't know what I'm talking about? IT you silly person! IT! Maybe I should come up with a name for IT when I'm finished telling my story. I was neutralizing chemicals. It sounds complicated? All I was doing was mixing Hydrochloric acid and Sodium Hydroxide to make salt water. My chemistry teacher left the room under the pretense of getting more chemicals. I'm pretty sure that he should have noticed that the chemistry room is where all the chemicals are. I mean, he has been teaching here for a few years. He should have figured it out by now. Our class is running a pool on what he does when he leaves the room. The majority thinks we talk so much, that he needs a break. About half of that majority thinks he's got a hangover and that's why he needs the silence. A few thinks he smokes. That would explain why he's continually got mouthwash breath and is continually chewing mint-flavored gum. The rest just decide he's an idiot and keeps forgetting about the chemicals in the lab. Anyway, I was bored and wondered what would happen if I mixed other chemicals. So much could happen. My chemical creation might be a famous cure or become the next miracle compound! I grabbed a couple of other chemicals off the chemical rack. I mixed it with the hydrochloric acid. It turned green. Then blue. Then started making bubbles. Then it emitted smoke. Bad sign. Very bad sign. ********************BOOM******************** Okay, so it might be a great explosive Ouchies. So I blew up the Chem. lab. Big deal. I didn't used to get bored like that. The Chemistry lab was the very first time. I finally realized something. The world was full of lots of stuff. Emotions, senses, experiences, dreams, hopes, fears, mistakes... I want to do it all. I want to feel it all. Hear it all, Feel it all, Smell it all, Touch it all, Taste... the edible parts. See, I'm not stupid. I just like stuff. I feel as if in those few moments before I blew up the Chem. lab, I was filled with color from when I was once just a grayed out figure. It was a revelation. After that I knew I wanted to travel the world, see the sights, be a pioneer. Too bad most of the world has been discovered. The deep oceans are filled with mystery, but I can't swim. Space is beautiful and Endless, but I get nauseous easily. Oh well. I'll discover what is around me and I'll get to the big stuff later. I've got years and years to do that. The principal decided to let out school. Booya! A free day! ...Boron, Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen... I'm in a park full of trees. I run my hand up and down the tree savoring the rough bark feeling. I smell the wildflowers blooming and see the water sparkling. The water flows, chattering its endless gossip. Look! It's a girl. She's pretty. She has green eyes and black hair. She has a nice shirt. It looks silky... I want to get closer and feel if it's as soft as it looks. I get closer and ********************SLAP******************** Okay, maybe I shouldn't have done that. ZZZZZZ.....Ack! I'm up, I'm up. I'm in a forest now. I look at the trees and see their verdant green leaves. I drink in the sight and I can hear the wind whispering through their branches. It's dark now and the stars twinkle merrily in the night sky. While here I reflect on my situation. I have so much to do and so much to see. So much to taste, and smell, and hear... hey... what's that sound? Rattling? Oh look a snake! I can't see it well so I think I'll get a closer look. ... Flourine, Neon, Sodium, Magnesium... ************************************ And thus ends the story of our hapless protagonist. Yippy Skippy. I hope you enjoyed reading this.
