A half-forgotten song 
running through my head.

I tried to mouth the words, 
but it wouldn't come out.

A faint forgotten noise with the phrase 
"Rock n' Roll" within.

I air guitar for a few fragmented moments, 
but the melody or chords don't echo in my head.

But I can hear the beat...

These jaded feet can still swing...

I forget the song a moment, 
and look outside.

I start humming another tune...

Nothing I ever heard before, but...

it still has that certain swing...

to a song I heard once before...

a long long time ago
