Memory

	I heard it on the radio again yesterday.  Of course
not the whole thing, almost never the whole thing. 
It's really infuriating.  Here I am sitting here in
the dark wondering how that song went.  It just runs
through my head again and again.  A few lines, maybe
the chorus, repeating themselves.  I remember snatches
here and there, but never enough to really count.  I
don't even know the title, or who sings it. I can't
ask because I don't even know if I had the words
right.  I can't ask because I remember I got some of
the tune wrong.
	I know its an old song, not that old but not recent
enough.  I suppose it's partially my fault for not
keeping up with popular music.  But I suppose that's
not really a fault.  Maybe I knew it once, but I never
did take much interest in these things before.  All I
know is that I really like this song, and can't
remember the way it goes.  
Or maybe these songs.  I'm pretty sure there's more
than one. Not all of them were popular.  I can't
remember the lullaby I remember my grandpa used to
sing.  My mom sang it too.  The basic melody is not
the problem; it's the rest of the lyrics.
So here I am now.  Sitting here.  In the dark. 
Thinking.  I remember I liked those songs.  I
remembered they caught my fancy.
  I just can't remember how they went.
