The light bulb flared and burned out.

"Damn!" swore the man watching the bulb. "Shut off the power. How much time
was that?"

A young man holding a pocketwatch said, "Thirty minutes sir."

"What?"

The young man stepped up closer to the older man and yelled into his ear.
"Thirty!"

"Oh! Half an hour... next time speak up son. I can't hear you otherwise." He
turned
his attention to the other people around him. "Get the next set of filament
samples
ready and threaded... we're going to make this baby last a hundred hours or
my name isn't Thomas Edison!"
