Background story:

Leon was brought to the orphanage at the age of 7 with
amnesia; the only connection to his past is the story of
a man from Nibelheim (whose last name happened to be Hawkings)
bringing him there to save him from his father's same fate
and dying before he could pick him up. Wishing for a
better life, he joined ShinRa at the age of 16 and became
an expert masksman. His skill was so great, that he was
recruted into the Turks. The job, however, was as an
assassin.

For the next 8 years, he was the Turks best assassin.
An experience that hardened his emotions greatly. He also
learned a great deal of ShinRa's dirty little secrets from
his various assignments making him very dangerous. Using
this knowladge, he managed to transfer himself out of his
current position into a more regular position. Partnered
with a rookie named Reno, he worked on regular assignments
for 3 years. In those 3 years, he began to trust in his
partner greatly. Until a particular assignment came up.

The were sent to a particular cliff in North Corel to
investigate the rumor of a possible Avalanche base. Both
he and Reno investigated the whole area finding nothing.
However, when Leon took a look down the cliff, he was shot
in the back. When he turned to see who it was, he saw Reno
holding the gun in his hand and Tseng coming out of the
shadows; both smiling. He then realized that the whole 3
years was all a ruse to make him let his guard down.
Before he could retaliate, Reno shot him again sending him
down the cliff to his death.

However, he didn't die. Instead, he saw a bright light
and heard a female voice that he'd never heard before but
seemed oddly familiar. The voice told him that the Planet
needed his help and that in turn it would reveal to him
his eluded past. Seing as that he had little choice, he
accepted. At the very least, he would be alive and able to
get revenge. He asked what he had to do, and he was simply
told to protect the man in the picture.

When he came to, he found scars where his bullet wound
used to be and a picture beside him. In the picture was
a spiky, blond-haired man with blue-green eyes. He
almost thought that it was another set-up by the Turks,
but (since it would be pointless to leave him alive and
very dangerous) he dissmissed it and decided to undertake
the task at hand, if for nothing more than for sheer
curiosity. He sought him out all over, finding nothing.
Heading for Costa del Sol, hoping for better luck.

When he finaly find the man (that being Cloud) he gets
an odd sense of familiarity from him. However, he also
senses something else from him from time to time.
Something dark. He decides to commit fully to the job;
reasoning that he can probably kill two birds with one
stone.

Leon is completely untrusting towards everybody; always
questioning every action. However, Aeris and Scott confuse
the hell out of him since he can't reason why they're so
nice. While kindness isn't his strong point, loyalty is.
He will help out any member of the party and then give a
lame reason to deny he did it to help. He is protective of
Cloud even though he's not above of hiting upside the head
of pointing a gun at him to make him be reasonable. Also he
is very cool under presure, due to his time as an assassin.

Leon also is the victim of a short fuse when it comes to
dealing with either Kain or Bri, ofter resulting in shooting
the ground their standing on. Towards everybody else, he's
indifferent.

The big secret behind Leon's origin is that he's actually
Cloud's older brother that was separated when his father was
killed for seeing something he shouldn't have. Cloud, at the
time, was just conceived. Because of the contact with his
sibling, Leon is begining to recover his memory thru dreams.

Creator's Comments:

Well, it took me long enough. I though up this guy when
I was watching Die Hard. Decided to do something interesting
with the Limit Breaks of both my avatars. The Cloud thing to
this one was added in protest of the unfair treatment of
Cloud Strife and other characters victimised by rabid
fanboys. :P

Hope everyone likes this guy. ^_^
